How does astrology work?

Astrology is a system of interpretation of the cosmos, based on the premise that events which happen here on Earth and in our lives are reflected in the movements of celestial bodies.

There are several different ways of interpreting these phenomenons, and each astrologer has their own techniques and vision of the practice.

As an astrologer, how do you interpret things?

My understanding of events past and future is based on the observation I make of the planets. When looking at a chart, I take into account different factors and influences that were present at “inception”, that is, the precise moment the chart was cast for (it can be the moment of your birth, a chart elected in advance for a specific event, etc.). By looking at the position of the planets, houses, signs, etc. I can make an interpretation relevant to the problematic you are coming to me for.

What type of astrology do you practice?

I mostly use hellenistic and medieval astrology techniques for natal and predictive astrology. I use traditional rulerships for signs, Dorothean triplicity lords, Chaldean decans and Egyptian terms. I do integrate outer planets in my delineations., when appropriate. For predictive astrology, I use annual profections, transits, solar and lunar return charts, and zodiacal releasing. I use synastry overlays and composite charts for compatibility readings.

What house system do you use?

I use whole sign houses in all of my delineations.

Is anything off-topic?

Although every concern is welcome, I cannot give you any professional medical, financial, legal or therapeutic advice, and will refer you to qualified professionals if need be. The astrological counsel I provide is for entertainment purposes only — this means I cannot guarantee any specific effects from our consultations or products.

Are my informations safe with you?

I follow the International Association of Ethics in Astrology (IAEA) guidelines, and I am committed to respecting your privacy. I will never disclose anything discussed in consultations without your expressed, written consent, and will maintain your anonymity at all times.

What are your credentials & influences?

In terms of strictly academic credentials, I hold a BSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics, and a Master’s of International Relations from the University of Melbourne.

In addition to studying astrology for 6 years and writing my undergraduate dissertation on astrology communities online, I have completed Chris Brennan’s electional astrology course, and I have also completed Austin Coppock’s course on planetary remediation. When it comes to astrological magic, I am a student of Christopher Warnock and follow his school of thought.

My talismanic work is directly influenced and inspired by the pioneering work of Kaitlin Coppock (Sphere & Sundry) and Christopher Warnock (Renaissance Astrology). Materia Girl (my astro magical space) wouldn’t be what it is today without them, and I am very grateful for that!

During this time, I have developed an interest and read texts from the hellenistic and medieval period that have helped me acquire a solid foundation (such as Dorotheus, Vettius Valens, Al-Qabisi, Masha'allah, Bonatti, and so on). They are my references for my current astrological practice.

What is your store policy? Do you accept refunds/exchanges/returns?

The effects of talismanic products are tied to the planet/fixed star/mansion etc. they are consecrated under. Because of the very nature of this art, these effects are unpredictable and subject to change. Please note that the effects of a talismanic product cannot be guaranteed. When you make any purchase from this store, you confirm that you are fully aware of this, and accept that you are taking the risk that this may not work as you intended.

While every effort is made on my part to offer talismanic-grade products which have been consecrated according to the rites of astrological magic, I in turn cannot guarantee the effects that a talisman will have. The vast majority of my clients are very happy with their purchase and their effects, as you can see in the reviews. Some clients have reported no effects, and while this is a rare case I again cannot guarantee the effects of a talismanic product — which is the reason they are sold as “curio”. Talismanic products are rare and created under specific circumstances — and for talismans, the majority of what I offer is basically made to order. For these reasons, I do NOT provide any REFUNDS, RETURNS or EXCHANGES for talismanic products. You are once again taking the risk of these magical products not working as you intended when you make a purchase. I thank you for your understanding!

What is your shipping time?

My shipping is done with La Poste (the French postal service) and your parcel can be tracked via a shipping number provided when the order is fulfilled. Shipping to the EU generally takes between 2 to 7 days.

For shipping outside the EU (a majority of cases), for example to America, Africa, Asia or Oceania, orders can take between 7 to over a month, with a majority of orders taking between 10 to 15 days to arrive. Please note that this will vary depending on your location.

Please note that I cannot guarantee an arrival date, and that I am not responsible for any package that is lost, damaged or delayed — this is an issue with La Poste. If you cannot locate your parcel, it is best to take this up with your local post office.

It is important for me to offer a low shipping fee (8-9€ for the EU, 12-13€ for international parcels). If you are in a hurry, wish for your parcel to arrive faster or be better insured, La Poste offers these services at a higher cost (between 50 and 120€ depending on the parcel, nature of the service etc.).
