2026 Horoscope by Rising Sign
Hi friends, welcome to this end of year prediction article!
The end of year is usually a time for reviewing and reflecting as we turn our hopes towards a new fresh, new start: new projects, new beginnings… Or perhaps it’s more complicated than that. If you’re reading this, you’re probably eager to find out what awaits you: love, money, perhaps a move?… But as any good diviner will tell you, prediction is less about seeing the future than understanding what the past and present tell us.
The astrology of 2026 is rich, and it will require agility and an adaptable mind to navigate. Now more than ever, it is imperative that you learn your lessons from the past and apply that knowledge wisely: many opportunities for new beginnings will appear, but you will have to choose wisely and use your discernment to reach your greatest potential. 2026 is not so much about finding encouraging possibilities, but about making the most of them; what to choose, and what to let go off. Beware of things that look to good to be true, because they often are — and a missed opportunity is better than a rushed decision you’ll come to regret later.
In this article, we’ll dive into the general astrological trends of 2026 and what you can expect, followed by the major events of the year and my interpretation of them. Then, you will find a personalised horoscope by rising sign (for Elysium members only!) where you will see what themes light up for you in 2026!
Major Astro Trends of 2026
2026 is marked by heightened activity in fire signs, followed by water signs. On the fire side of things, we have Saturn entering Aries for good for the next three years on February 14th, as well as Jupiter entering Leo after a year spent in Cancer on June 30th. On top of that, with the nodes moving into the Aquarius-Leo axis, we'll experience our first solar eclipse in Leo in August.
This activity in fire signs places 2026 under the sign of dynamism, excitement around new opportunities, and a flow of energy coming our way. But this doesn't mean that this energy is all beneficial: we have to keep in mind that if the greater benefic Jupiter will be present in Leo, we will have a great malefic conjunction of Mars and Saturn in Aries in April. On top of that, the South Node, which is a malefic entity will also move into Leo, bringing a series of eclipses which are traditionally seen as destabilising and chaotic events.
We must be careful of not rushing into opportunities that seem too good to be true, and we must also remember to not be too selfish or greedy around the riches that come our way. For those of you who have seen the series Succession, to me, Logan Roy is the quintessential Saturn in Aries figure — he's actually played by Brian Cox, who does have this placement in his natal chart. Saturn in Aries is fundamentally a figure that does not respect the law of time or heredity: he is greedy, and wants to keep things all to himself. He is Kronos who eats his children because he refuses to accept the passage of time or power. It is not a healthy power figure, but an all-engulfing, terrifying vision of time.
This encourages us to be careful around what we put our energy into. We might rush into something not out of genuine enthusiasm, but out of fear and anxiety that we're running out of time and that something like this will not present itself again. As I said before, I recommend your exercise discernment as 2026 unfolds, and especially for those of you who have Saturn or Aries activated in your solar return.
On the other side of things, an element that is highly activated during 2026 is water. As part of his annual series of three retrogrades, Mercury will Rx through water signs in Pisces during the beginning of the year, in Cancer over the middle, and finally in Scorpio towards the end. Furthermore, we do get a rarer Venus retrograde, as the Queen of Love will retrograde her way back through Scorpio and Libra. This is reminiscent of a similar retrograde we experienced back in 2018 around the fall. All of this to say, the water activations we get in 2026 are quite moody and tumultuous. If transits like Venus in Pisces around February and March can bring a great deal of joy, love, and generosity our way, the dance of retrograde planets through water signs also indicate that we might get caught up in a kind of sentimentality or even obsession that are not necessarily beneficial or enviable.
The mix of fire and water activations we get in 2026 is definitely a romantic one in the original sense of the term: it is passion, it is the turmoil of the heart, it is great emotions that can lead us into inconsiderate choices. The greatest exercise of balance that we can do during 2026 is trying to lean not too hard into matters that touch us in an extremely powerful and intimate way. Instead, it is good to ground ourselves into the present and not to hesitate to delay choices until we have more elements to go into them. As I said before, with Aries and Scorpio activations, it will be a primarily Mars influenced year. Mars being the planet of conflict, arguments, and rifts, it is likely that we will not see eye to eye from people or at least seek to differentiate ourselves from them.
While I certainly hope for peace, I can say that I won't be surprised if we see a great ramp up of defences in 2026 both on the personal and larger global scale: I think we can expect to see conflicts being drawn more easily and society around us may stir up divergence and differences rather than foster community and cooperation. Overall, my advice for 2026 would be patience and to remind ourselves that even when it seems like we don't have a choice, we in fact always do have it. I recommend taking your time especially for big decisions that impact your finances, your career, or even your relationships.
If you can, avoid committing to important things around April 20 (the Mars-Saturn conjunction in Aries), as this can lead to regrets or a high chance of conflict. On the other side, do take advantage of the Venus-Jupiter conjunction at 25° Cancer, especially for engagements, trips or other happy plans!
2. 2026 Astrology Dates to Keep in Mind
January
January 6: Venus & Mars cazimi at 16° Capricorn
This alignment is a very rare occurrence: a planet conjoining the Sun within 1° is known as a cazimi. It is a time when the planet undergoes a major transformation, which can be painful, but also render it extremely strong and powerful, as if passing through fire. Two planets being cazimi at the same time is extremely rare. The last time we had both a Venus and Mars cazimi in Capricorn was in early January 1994, over 31 years ago.
In the second decan of Capricorn (co-ruled by Mars and Venus), this double cazimi speaks of a time to build, to set our plans into motion. Mars, exalted in Capricorn, leads the dance: our actions must be precise, practical & bold, we are constructing something ambitious. Accompanied by Venus’s taste for beauty and order in Capricorn, we are tasked with making our grandest plans come to life this year: no half-measures, no cutting out on quality our time. This sets a helpful reminder for the year ahead: do not compromise your plans or vision to rush into something.
January 26: Neptune enters Aries
After dipping his toes in Aries in early 2025, Neptune enters the sign for good. In Aries, Neptune is susceptible to unleash forces of confusion and mirages when it comes to our baseline level of aggression, deforming and misrepresenting perceived offences or anger directed at us. This activates themes of war, conflict and secret intelligence being used to the benefit of causing dissent. This is accelerated by Saturn’s ingress into the sign about three weeks later…
February
February 14: Saturn enters Aries
This long transit will confront us with what Saturnine realities look like when he is in the sign of his fall: a sudden desire to shake up conventions and the established order, a certain impatience (which can border immaturity) relative to things that require time and experience, rejection of conventional wisdom, the ancient and the elderly, and a desire to begin a million things with very little appetite to finish them.
Traditionally, Saturn is a time-keeper, guardian of the old, of maturity and of all things eternal and which endure. In Aries, aka the domicile of brash, bold Mars and the exaltation of the radiant Sun, Saturn is ill at ease, as the impetuous and dynamic energy of the sign doesn’t bode well for a planet which excels at slowness, preservation and all things long-brewing. It is also interesting to note how this coincides with a sharply rising anti-boomer sentiment: when Saturn is in his fall (Aries), we question the established order, and the differences in generation.
Saturn in Aries is the quintessential “Kronos/Saturn eating his young” transit: a refusal of old generations to leave room for the new. My favourite archetype of this transit is Logan Roy in Succession: an obscenely rich man pitting his children against each other… As populations are aging & birth rates are slowing down, as pensions in rich countries continue to increase while the young face a cost of living crisis, more & more people are interrogating the system, the way wealth & age are function together. This is likely to amplify between now and April 2028, when Saturn will exit Aries for good.
February 17: Solar eclipse at 28° Aquarius
We come to the first eclipse on the Leo-Aquarius axis, a series which will last until January 2028. Ruled by a newly ingressed Saturn (at 0° Aries!) This eclipse in the third decan of Aquarius confronts us to the necessity of choice: it represents a situation that has dragged on too long and cannot be resolved by further thinking, negotiation or waiting. Something is structurally stuck. The third decan of Aqua shows frustration, resentment, and mental overstrain building around us: the eclipse removes clarity rather than adding it, so we realise they do not truly know how to fix the situation anymore, only that continuing as before is no longer viable.
Because Saturn, the ruler of both the sign and term of the eclipse, is at 0° Aries, the outcome is separation through decision. Saturn in Aries forces action even when the plan is incomplete and the timing feels premature. In concrete terms, this can look like quitting, cutting ties, ending an arrangement, or disengaging from a group, job or obligation without having the next step fully secured. The meaning is simple: stop trying to make an unworkable structure function. Accept loss, act decisively, and take responsibility for the consequences rather than remaining trapped in delay. This may not be the most pleasant time of the year, but it will force us into decisive action.
February 20: Saturn Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries
February 26: Mercury stations retrograde at 22° Pisces
March
March 3: Lunar Eclipse at 12° Virgo
This lunar eclipse at in the second decan of Virgo shows the end point of a routine/task/obligation that has been kept alive through constant micromanagement. Virgo exposes where you have been compensating for someone else’s disorganisation, doing work that is not truly yours… And maintaining a system that only works because you are endlessly adjusting it or overworking yourself to the benefit of others. During the eclipse, the emotional and physical cost of this becomes impossible to ignore, and something simply has to give.
With Mercury retrograde in Pisces (the sign of his fall) ruling the eclipse, we realise the original agreement or logic behind the situation was flawed from the start : expectations were unclear, boundaries porous… The structure was clunky and unsustainable & unfair from the beginning. What this means in practice is cutting back or letting something fail instead of rescuing it again. The correction comes through withdrawal of effort rather than confrontation. You stop fixing, stop covering, stop explaining, and the structure reveals whether it can survive without your constant intervention.
March 11: Jupiter stations direct at 15° Cancer
March 20: Mercury direct at 8° Pisces
March 25: Saturn Cazimi at 4° Aries
April
April 20: Mars-Saturn conjunction at 7° Aries
This transit is undoubtedly the most difficult of the year, evoking forced action under constraint. Mars in the first decan of Aries wants immediate movement and is quite aggressive and forceful, while Saturn in his fall blocks that instinct of “push” without offering much wisdom or stability in return — just delays for the sake of delays. Concretely, this transit produces collisions between urgency and limitation: pushing forward meets resistance, authority asserts itself clumsily and without thinking much of future consequences, and efforts made too early or too forcefully risk burnout or outright failure. You’re likely to feel anger born from being told “no” by structures that no longer feel legitimate or competent.
The fact that both planets are in the Egyptian terms of Venus tempers this only slightly, shifting the battleground toward resources, values, money, land and bodily security, especially since Venus is strong in Taurus. Yet her conjunction with Algol shows that she, too, is in a defensive mood. This transit describes systems tightening their grip precisely when new life is trying to emerge, leading to harsh enforcement and even moral outrage. My advice would be to be moderate in your attitudes at this time and not try to exert control and power too forcefully, even if you have the advantage. Attempts to dominate or prove strength tend to provoke irreversible consequences, and the true lesson of this conjunction is knowing when to stop pushing, even when everything in the body wants to fight forward.
April 26: Uranus enters Gemini
On this day, Uranus enters Gemini for “good” until 2032 after a brief stint through the sign in 2025. As a reminder, the planet of change, spontaneity and revolution was last in Gemini from August 7, 1941, to June 10, 1949. When outer planets shift, they are more prone to indicate changes or advancements at the societal level rather than the individual: for Uranus, this transit is likely to mark a period of rapid and disruptive changes in communication, technology, and transportation, much like its last transit through this sign during the 1940s. Uranus, the planet of innovation and upheaval, in Gemini — an intellectual, mutable air sign — ushers in breakthroughs that challenge established norms in how we connect and exchange information.
This transit often coincides with revolutionary inventions that transform society, such as the development of digital computers and the rise of television during its last journey through Gemini. We can expect similar technological advancements that redefine our interaction with media and information systems. Obviously, my mind turns to the wide and rapid adoption of AI and LLMs in our cultural landscape, as well as leaps in the development of quantum computing.
June
June 9: Venus-Jupiter conjunction at 25° Cancer
As the two benefics conjoin for the second time in Cancer, this is a genuinely lovely moment around generosity and emotional security. It often shows up as help coming from family, a partner wanting to invest and move to the next step of a relationship, a housing opportunity, financial support, or feeling protected in a way that actually changes your material situation. People are more generous, more willing to give and say yes, especially when it involves caring for something or… opening their wallets. This can look like buying or improving a home, receiving money, being backed by someone more established or with great power, or finally feeling that something is “safe enough” to grow.
This is slightly complicated by the ruler of the conjunction, the Moon, applying to Saturn in Aries. The high level of cardinal energy may make things feel frantic or rushed, without necessarily thinking of long-term consequences. This may not be a bad thing in itself if the goal is to simply enjoy the moment, but don’t let your fun get ruined by older, grumpy killjoys.
June 29: Mercury stations retrograde at 26° Cancer
June 30: Jupiter enters Leo
Now onto one of the major transits of 2026: on June 30th, Jupiter moves into Leo — and while he's not exalted in the sign of Cancer anymore, this shift also has positive sides. For one, he isn't ruled by the Moon anymore, who changes signs very frequently. As a result, Jupiter is less subject to her mood swings. He enters a sign that is ruled by the Sun, who is a lot more stable and who moves a lot more predictably. It is a fixed sign, so Jupiter is more stable there. Also, he is moving into a fire sign, in which he has dignity by triplicity, meaning he is in his element in that sign. He becomes more bold, more joyful, and as I said before, he fuels the fire of this astrological year.
You can expect to feel more courage, more optimism and a certain willingness to take calculated risks, especially when it comes to leadership and public roles where you need to be seen and not sheltered. As I said, this fits the tone of the year. Fire is already dominant, and Jupiter in Leo amplifies that in a healthy way. You're feeling more alive and more motivated. It's excellent for certain ventures that require confidence, charisma, and authority. For example, you could be launching a business, you could be stepping into a more management or senior role, teaching, performing, or claiming a role that you previously felt unqualified for. Jupiter here rewards generosity and loyalty: acting with pride and openness rather than defensiveness tends to open more doors.
What really changes the picture, though, is Saturn. Saturn will be in Aries and unlike previous years, Jupiter and Saturn are no longer making a hard aspect to each other. Yes, Saturn is in the sign of his fall, but Jupiter in Leo creates a trine aspect between the two. That matters a lot. Over the last few years, growth kept running into walls and ambition was constantly being blocked (you can think about the years of COVID and the impact that this had on people and businesses.) Now, while Jupiter and Saturn trine each other by sign, expansion and constraint can finally cooperate. Yes, with the energy of Saturn in the sign of his fall, we may see struggles to give up the crown, so to speak, or a bit of immaturity or start too early, but the enthusiasm of Jupiter in Leo reduces the losses we get from that and becomes more of an opportunity for learning experiences. This is very different from 2014, the last time that Jupiter was in Leo, because back then he was squaring Saturn in Scorpio, which created power struggles, ego clashes and an intensity that wasn't always conducive to giving the best of ourselves. Whereas in 2026, the climate is much more constructive!
July
July 4: Mars-Uranus conjunction at 3° Gemini
This is a sharp, unstable, and very fast transit. Mars and Uranus together bring sudden action, impulsive decisions, and events that happen too quickly to be moderated. In Gemini, the volatility is mental and communicative rather than physical at first: think arguments that escalate instantly, news that drops without warning, people speaking before thinking, decisions made on a whim… Gemini rules information, transport, siblings, phones, emails, short trips, and everyday logistics, so this is where disruptions show up. Tech issues, scheduling mistakes, accidents while rushing or explosive conversations are all classic manifestations.
The danger here is speed + cleverness. People think they are being smart, strategic or adaptable, but Mars–Uranus acts before consequences are considered. This is when someone quits suddenly, sends the message they cannot unsend or takes a risk that blows up socially or professionally. At its best, this conjunction can bring a breakthrough idea, a bold mental reset, or the courage to say what has been suppressed, but it is not subtle and it is not patient. The advice is very practical: slow down your reactions, double-check messages, avoid driving or traveling in a rush, and do not make irreversible decisions in the heat of irritation. This transit rewards alertness and flexibility, but it punishes recklessness very quickly.
July 24: Mercury stations direct at 16° Cancer
July 26: Saturn stations retrograde at 14° Aries
July 27: the North Node enters Aquarius, the South Node enters Leo
With the North Node moving into Aquarius and the South Node in Leo, the collective is being pulled away from ego-driven leadership, personality cults, and the need to be special or admired (think of the “death of influencers”), and towards systems, networks, and shared responsibility. The South Noden Leo shows exhaustion around performative authority and charismatic figures who demand loyalty. 2016-2017 was the peak of the influencer era, of the single individual being put in the spotlight. This is the point where people stop wanting kings, heroes and saviours, and start questioning why power is concentrated in so few hands. On a personal level, it asks you to loosen your grip on validation or the need to be at the center of the story.
Opposite the South Node, the North Node in Aquarius pushes growth through collaboration, decentralisation & long-term thinking. Progress comes from working with others, designing structures that outlast individual ambition, and prioritising what serves the group over what flatters the self. If you think back about it, the last time we had the North Node in Aquarius was around 2008 and the financial crisis. That's when the movement Occupy Wall Street was born, and the hope to disrupt an unequal financial order and instead create a utopian society. While this may not happen in such a utopian way, this shows that there will be changes in how organisations are run, how leadership is distributed and how communities form, often through technology or new social models. Individually, opportunities come when you step into roles that support the whole rather than spotlight the self, when you trade personal glory for influence within a system, and when you build something useful rather than something impressive. Although we have the right to not be as optimistic and think of the emergence of AI and elites hoping to further control the narrative through technological advances, I remain hopeful that eclipses on the Leo-Aquarius axis will lead to disruption and change.
July 29: Jupiter Cazimi at 6° Leo
August
August 12: Solar Eclipse at 20° Leo
While this eclipse is conjoining the South Node and can deplete us of energy, it happens while the sun is in the sign of his domicile, where he is fairly strong. On top of that, this eclipse is co-present both Mercury and Jupiter in Leo, which injects a dose of optimism! The fact that this eclipse takes place in the third decan of Leo is quite interesting because this is a Martial decan, where we have to show strength, courage and ability in battle.
This eclipse encourages us to take things head-on, even if the challenges ahead may seem daunting, as the very act of tackling challenges can in fact create a newfound sense of purpose and optimism, which is indicated by Jupiter co-present. Although eclipses are quite volatile moments, this is by far not the worst of them, and this can highlight our need to become brave in putting ourselves out there and in going after what we desire, even if it may seem depleting or exhausting in the moment.
August 28: Lunar Eclipse at 4° Pisces
The next eclipse of the month, a lunar one, plunges us into a much more contemplative and intricate scene. The Moon is in the first decan of Pisces, ruled by Jupiter in Leo, to which she is averse, and the eclipse takes place at the exact same time as an impressive Mercury cazimi (Mercury in the heart of the Sun) in the first decan of Virgo, where Mercury reigns supreme, as he is both in his exaltation and in his own term.
This lunar eclipse is quite interesting, as it highlights our tendency to make up rules and limitations into our own minds, but the Mercury cazimi shows that this is sometimes warranted. We are also reminded that the Moon is in the sign of the exaltation of Venus, as well as in her own term, while Venus is beautifully dignified in her own domicile of Libra. This eclipse confronts us to the fact that we must pause and think carefully about what we are trying to build, and how much patience and dedication an endeavour necessitates before it can fully come to fruition.
This eclipse enjoins us to take a bit of a step back, and while it is quite a joyful and interesting one in and of itself, we may be surprised by a limitation we have not seen before, or trying to burn the steps before we actually build something that matters. This advice can be used all year long, but especially during this lunar eclipse: remember to slow down and carefully examine what needs a stronger foundation or a slower pace before you fully commit to one vision of things, one narrative, or one grand plan.
October
October 3: Venus stations retrograde at 8° Scorpio
This is THEE major retrograde of the year! Venus stationing retrograde at 8° Scorpio is about unbearable desire that intensifies… and then disappoints. This is a period where you want something badly (a person, a relationship, attention, intimacy, money, control, reassurance…) and pursue it with focus and urgency. Because Venus is in Scorpio and in the decan of Mars, there is nothing casual about this: obsessive feelings may arise, along with co-dependent attachments and old flames that resurface in an intense way. People go back to past lovers, unfinished emotional business, unresolved resentments, or financial entanglements they thought they were done with. You chase the thing, you get close to it, and then you realise it does not satisfy you in the way you imagined, or it costs more than you expected.
Mars ruling Venus from Leo makes this louder and more dramatic. Pride, ego and the need to feel chosen/desired are heavily involved. During the retrograde itself, frustration builds up and eventually culminates in a square Venus on October 10, 2026. Beware of jealousy turning into confrontation or attraction into conflict! The lesson of this transit is not “don’t want,” as this would be futile and negate the entire point of the retrograde, but it’s to learn what relentlessly pursuing our desires actually costs (when we ignore calls to reason.) Desire that is driven by lack, fear, or ego tends to consume more than it gives, and Venus retrograde in Scorpio forces you to see that clearly, even if it stings.
October 24: Venus cazimi at 0° Scorpio + Mercury stations retrograde at 20° Scorpio
November
November 13: Mercury stations direct at 5° Scorpio
November 13-15: Mars-Jupiter-South Node conjunction at 25° Leo
This “super conjunction” is very interesting, as it brings two malefics together — Mars and the South Node — together with one benefic, Jupiter. But this conjunction is not equal. One player clearly comes out on top, and that is Mars. The reason for that is because in the third decan of Leo, Mars reigns supreme: he is in his own decan, and in his own Egyptian term. On top of that, while he is ruled by the Sun, the Sun happens to be in a Martial sign, Scorpio, that lends even more power to Mars and makes the cocktail quite explosive.
The interesting thing about that aspect is that the third decan of Leo is all about courage and about feeling embattled and fierce. It is about pursuing what we desire and what we strive for. We may have already experienced some of that intense and courageous energy when we witnessed the eclipse that took place in that same decan in August. This time, Mars, who dominates the field, is very intense and he's applying pressure on Jupiter. In the third decan of Leo, Jupiter is fierce, but he cannot withstand the heat of Mars. The result? Probably feeling coerced into a situation where we need to defend our values or ethics, but feel like for some reason we have to cave in to hostility. You can think of a partner coercing you into something you don't want to do or believe in just to avoid conflict, a boss that is forcing you to accept an agreement you don't really feel in line with, or feeling constrained by someone else's arrogance into doing what they want.
This is not a happy transit and it is likely to highlight some of the tension we have been feeling over the course of the year through the presence of fire signs and the dynamism they insufflate, but in a way that is not so pleasant. This is a bad moment to pass, but afterwards things start to cool down as Jupiter gets away from the South Node and Mars enters the more tranquil sign of Virgo. In the meantime, try not to compromise on your values too much as this is something you might come to bitterly regret later down the line.
November 14: Venus stations direct at 22° Libra
While the transit mentioned above takes place, we are experiencing something quite different on the side of Venus. After her difficult journey through the early degrees of Scorpio and her confrontation with Mars, she finally stations direct at 22° of Libra on November 14. This direct station is a welcome breath of fresh air and quite different from the intensity, obsession, and even crisis we might have experienced while she was in Scorpio. At the same time, this third decan of Libra is qualitatively very different.
Here, Venus Finally, finds a place of calm, rest and tranquility. Her direct station, which implies a slower and gradual movement forward, is a call to slow down and rest. This is advice I have been giving throughout the year, but there's no better time to apply it than while Venus is in that part of Libra. This does not signify that things are entirely peaceful. The consequences of the mad desire and passion that unleashed while she was in the early degrees of Scorpio are still felt, and maybe the shelter she finds in the third decan of Libra is not the tranquility of someone who is above reproach, but rather of someone who causes chaos and is now seeking to avoid its consequences. I enjoin you to consider the complex set of circumstances you may find yourself in during that transit, and remember that Venus will station direct very close to Spica, the fixed star located at 24° of Libra.
Spica is a star of benevolence, of great gain and wealth, but also of seeking and finding justice. Spica is a star of intelligence, and she makes us gain precious rewards not through idleness, but through cleverness and hard work. The core of Venus while she stations direct might be exactly that, to be smart, to remain alert, and to meditate deeply on the circumstances we have created in order to find a way out. This is not a passive station, but instead a call to reflect and craft a meticulous plan. After all, Libra is also the exaltation of Saturn, the great organiser and planner.
