Saturn in Aries Horoscope
After over two years spent in the sign of Pisces, Saturn ingresses into Aries for a brief amount of time on May 25, 2025. This ingress marks an important period of change and upheaval, as the Greater Malefic finds his fall in the sign of Aries — bringing impulsiveness, impatience and volatility, but also an opportunity to transform our societies and cause revolutionary changes to happen.
A quick recap on Saturn and his “fall”: this concept comes from essential dignity. Essential dignity in astrology describes how well a planet functions based on the sign it's in, like being at home VS in hostile territory. Saturn is in his fall in Aries because Aries, ruled by Mars, is hot, impulsive, and action-driven, which directly opposes Saturn’s cold, slow, and restraining nature.
The sign of Libra is Saturn’s exaltation: it suits his cold, dry temperament, and Saturn there excels at bringing justice and building meaningful, long-lasting works. Opposite Libra, we find Aries, his fall, where Saturn struggles to keep the peace and act in a pondered, appeased manner. In Aries, Saturn is brash, impulsive, and struggles to see the long-term impact of his short-lived actions.
One great example of this is Will Smith. Smith was born with Saturn in Aries in his 11th house, in a night chart. This signifies that his greatest hardships will come from impulsive decisions that will affect how his allies and audience perceive him. In March 2022, during the live Oscars ceremony, Smith slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke and publicly insulted his wife. This incident, which only lasted a couple seconds and according to Smith was purely impulsive, cost him important career opportunities (movies and publicity campaigns were cancelled, aka losing allies in his industry), divided his audience (some supporting him, some disavowing him) and had long-lasting effects on his public reputation. This is peak Saturn in Aries: an impulsive, rash action that happened in the heat of the moment has years-long consequences for him.
The ultimate challenges for Saturn in Aries natives — and also during this Saturn in Aries period — is to 1) think before we act, and most importantly 2) to learn to live and actively make amends for the consequences of our own actions. Yes, we are bound to make mistakes during this transit, to think uncritically, and to tend to move too fast and impulsively for our own good. But the lesson we learn in spite of Saturn in Aries is accountability; it’s owning up to our mistakes and saying “yes, I fucked up, but I am committed to making up for my actions.” Saturn is the planet of time, of long-lasting effects, but also of shame and guilt: without doing the necessary work of reflection and self-introspection, we are bound to repeat the same errors.
During this Saturn in Aries transit, I preemptively absolve you of the fear of mistakes — I do not absolve you from the mistakes themselves, for they are bound to happen, but I want you to know that the very purpose of this transit is to help you test the boundaries, to rebel against an established order; to be messy, to be impure, to be the fallen angel. You will disappoint others and yourself along the way; you will close future doors that held potential; you will royally fuck up. But you’ll know what impulsiveness truly means. You’ll know what you want by knowing what you don’t want, where you’re headed because you’ll know where not to go. I’ll see you on the other side 🤍
Saturn will move into Aries on May 25, 2025 before retrograding back into Pisces on September 1, 2025. He will move into Aries for good on February 14, 2026, and exit the sign on April 14, 2028.
Disclaimer: a planet’s transit through a sign/house is only a small part of its story in your chart & life. Whether Saturn is prominent in your chart (if you have planets ruled by Saturn, Saturn is in an angular house or making tight aspects to your chart ruler…) or via timing (rules your Solar return ascendant, is activated by profection…). Ultimately, this is not intended to be fatalistic, but more as a guide through the themes you may encounter. Good luck! 🪐
Aries Rising: Saturn in your 1H.
You’re learning the hard way that momentum without structure burns out fast. Your usual confidence might feel shaky, like your timing’s off or your body’s not keeping up. That’s okay, you’re not supposed to have it all together right now. Use this time to slow down, build your strength and let pressure carve something solid out of all your raw fire.
2. Taurus Rising: Saturn in your 12H.
This is the quiet breakdown, the one that happens behind the scenes, in your own mind, in dreams and sleepless nights. Saturn in the 12th drags your inner chaos to the surface and dares you to face it… You’re not supposed to have the answers right now, simply the courage to sit with the questions. Let this transit bring out all of your contradictions.
3. Gemini Rising: Saturn in your 11H.
Friendships shift, and alliances crack: the groups you thought you belonged to might start to feel alien, or worse — like dead weight. Saturn in Aries cuts ties to empty networks and fake support. What’s left? The people who challenge you to be better, who push back when you’re wrong, who stay when things get messy.
4. Cancer Rising: Saturn in your 10H.
Pressure to succeed can hit hard. You want recognition, but it doesn’t come as easily as you thought. Every misstep feels public, and every delay feels like a failure. Saturn in Aries here gives you ambition, but the road up is steep and mostly solo. Still, if you’re willing to play the long game, what you build now could define you for decades. Just don’t expect applause yet.
5. Leo Rising: Saturn in your 9H.
Your beliefs are under fire. The worldview you once thought was solid starts to crumble before you. Teachers disappoint you, systems fail you... The way forward isn't obvious. But this is a pilgrimage, not a vacation. You’re learning what it actually costs to live your truth. Saturn’s carving out a philosophy with lasting, but worthy scars.
6. Virgo Rising: Saturn in your 8H.
You may find yourself face to face with what you've been avoiding, whether it's taxes, grief or shared burdens and secrets you’ve kept from your close ones. Saturn strips it down. Whatever you’ve been hiding gets exposed, but only so it can be rebuilt: stronger, more real.
7. Libra Rising: Saturn in your 7H.
Relationships bring heat. You want closeness, but not if it means losing ground. Fights flare up fast, boundaries get drawn in anger, and you might cut ties too quickly or hold on too long just to prove a point. This is the house of contracts, and Saturn in Aries wants to fight before it signs anything. But remember that real partnership isn’t about winning, it's about learning when to stand your ground, and when to lay down your sword.
8. Scorpio Rising: Saturn in your 6H.
Burnout, frustration…. The body rebels, tired of keeping the score. You want to push through, but Saturn says no, not like that. Not anymore. This is the house of humble service and daily grind, and in Aries, Saturn demands a better system. One that honours your energy, or that doesn’t kill you slowly. You’re learning how to work smarter, or stop working entirely until you do.
9. Sagittarius Rising: Saturn in your 5H.
Joy feels risky, and love feels like work. You might doubt your creative spark or feel blocked when you try to express yourself. Dating could feel like a big test… or like a punishment. You’re being asked to grow up emotionally, to learn how to create and love without expecting instant gratification. Keep making art, and keep showing up, even when it feels flat.
10. Capricorn Rising: Saturn in your 4H.
Something about the past is resurfacing: old family wounds, responsibilities you never asked for, the weight of ancestry/culture you didn’t choose. Maybe home doesn’t feel like a safe place right now (maybe it never did). Saturn here wants you to grow roots anyway, but roots you plant yourself. It’s about time for independence.
11. Aquarius Rising: Saturn in your 3H.
during this transit, you may struggle to say what you mean without cutting too deep or moving too fast. Communication turns into a battlefield, siblings or neighbours into sources of stress… Learn how to pause before speaking. Practice listening when it matters. Even when it feels difficult, connection and every day magic is what will help on the long run.
12. Pisces Rising: Saturn in your 2H.
Money, self-worth, survival: it’s all on the table, and none of it feels easy. You may find yourself counting pennies or questioning your value, especially when quick fixes backfire. But Saturn here isn’t here to punish, he’s trying to teach you how to back your worth with real skills, work and most of all: patience.
