As dawn’s first light paints the sky, a brilliant star ascends: victorious, exalted, almighty, Jupiter rises.

In his exaltation of Cancer, Jupiter brings honour, wisdom, power and riches; his abilities are far-reaching, and he can make our greatest wishes come true. But, why Cancer? Cancer is the domicile of the Moon, the mediatrix, a planet through which all things come to be: the world that surrounds us, our material reality, our fate… The sign of Cancer is also the ascendant of the Thema Mundi, the mythical chart of the creation of the world — suggesting that the origin of all things, their capacity to come to life and thrive are all to be found in this sign. In ancient Egypt, the season where the Sun transited the sign of Cancer corresponded to the flood of the river Nile, a crucial event which would determine whether the fertilised banks of the river would give a bountiful harvest, securing a year of prosperity for the people of Egypt.

In Cancer, Jupiter exalts and magnifies this ability: he nurtures the seeds which will bloom into fruitful abundance, he offers power and sovereign authority to those he deems deserving, and most importantly, he builds entire worlds of their own. In his exaltation, Jupiter is king, and he has supreme authority as to what visions and dreams come to be, versus which ones are relegated to the side.

Jupiter is the planet of dreams, hope and grand visions: when we invoke him in a magickal context, we can usually ask for the “impossible”, for our greatest wishes to come true: buying a dream house, getting our dream job or university, asking for big sums of money, or even a spiritual revelation… In a natal context, Jupiter in Cancer individuals have the ability to make their unique vision come to life, even if it may seem impossible at first. They have that Jupiter fire that tells them “keep going, and you’ll achieve whatever you put your mind to!”

At its core, Jupiter is about belief: the belief that everything will work out; the belief that anything is possible, and that our dreams can come to life, if we nurture them. Jupiter doesn’t believe in half-assed efforts, or in half truths: he embodies confidence, authority and abundance. When exalted, he is our biggest cheerleader, gifting us with clarity in our purpose and the faith to do anything. Jupiter in Cancer acts as a magnet for opportunities, aligning us right on the path we need to be on for our biggest dreams to come true.

It is under these auspices that the Jupiter in Cancer collection came to life. Rising at the height of his powers in his own day and hour, the Greater Benefic embodies promises of authority, leadership, supreme beneficence and luck. This election is not the fruit of chance: it was meticulously chosen to give the greatest, biggest benefits to those who will use the offerings made under it.

In addition to a supremely exalted Jupiter, the election features a gorgeous Moon in Aries, in her 3rd mansion. For those familiar with my previous collections, the 3rd lunar mansion is by far the Moon’s most auspicious mansion, where she exalts and provides “all good things” to the wearer. The Moon applies to an out-of-sign sextile to beneficent Jupiter, and makes no harsh aspects otherwise, auguring a lucky, bright election. Jupiter exalted and rising over the horizon was chosen based on two descriptions offered in the Picatrix:

“Make [this talisman] in the hour of Jupiter when Jupiter is rising in his exaltation. Those who carry this image will have increase of riches and honour and lead a good life, and have many sons, and be able to perform good things and not be injured by enemies.” (Picatrix, Book II, Ch. 10, p. 105-106)

“If you wish to be esteemed by officials and judges, make under the influence of Jupiter [a talisman] in the hour of Jupiter when Jupiter is in the ascendant and in his exaltation. It is true that officials and judges will esteem those that carry these images with them.” (Picatrix, Book II, Ch. 10, p. 106)

This election was conceived as a veritable “feast”, in the primary sense of the word: a celebration, a cheerful gathering of the most auspicious nature, made to propitiate the boon of the Greater Benefic. Preparations began the day before, on Jupiter’s own day and hour: the altar was donned with a royal blue tablecloth, and adorned with kingly offerings: a genuine cornucopia overflowing with fruits, sweets and other delicious treats; a seafood platter brimming with bounty of the sea; genuine saffron water infused with highest-grade saffron threads; fresh, seasonal flowers; and of course the top-shelf gin that was to be infused with butterfly pea flowers (and later ensouled and kept for Personal Use + lucky guests!) The picture was complete with 4 blue & gold candles, a premium blend of frankincense + myrrh, the symbols of Jupiter written over the altar and the stunning image of Jupiter custom-created by brilliant astrologer & designer Hugh Tran

All of the products offered in the collection were engraved or incorporated, suffumigated and consecrated over the ritual image during the electional window. The feeling that arose in me as I recited the invocation to Jupiter is indescribable: I felt transported, anointed by a divine power that felt supremely good, benevolent, larger-than-life. The realm of possibilities suddenly felt infinite; it was as if a symphony of four thousand angels was playing before me; as if I was witnessing the coronation of a new leader; a magnificent banquet, brimming with the most delicious foods, set before my very eyes.

Later that day, my friends were invited to a very special occasion: a feast, in the honour of Jupiter, set on the very table that the altar was sitting on. Prior divination confirmed that the altar and food offered to Jupiter were to be later used as a banquet to be shared with those closest to me — an opportunity for celebration, for rejoicing and enjoying each other’s company in the heart of summer. This is the true meaning of Jupiter in Cancer: to be honoured, raised up and covered in riches, yes, but also to share these riches with others. As I shared delicious food with my friends, laughed and dragged the dinner into an evening of party and dancing, sipping the newly-consecrated butterfly pea flower gin, I felt the power and benevolence of Jupiter in my core: a force for good, one that promised a bright, exciting future ahead.

I hope that you enjoy the products of this collection as much as I enjoyed the entire process of preparing + consecrating its offerings. As always, this is a work of love, and it is my greatest wish that the tremendously Good power hosted in these offerings brings you exactly what you need, when you need it. Enjoy the collection!
