Sweet Almond Oil • Sandalwood, Bergamot & Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil • Emerald Chips

This oil was consecrated under the 22nd Mansion of the Moon, known as Sa’d al-Dhabih, ā€œthe Fortunate Assassinā€. It is an oil for protection and to stop gossip, slander & harm from enemies.

The mansions of the Moon are 28 ā€œmansionsā€ which span across the zodiac, and where the Moon is thought to travel through every month and find special powers in each. Every mansion has special properties, qualities and magical applications, and were widely used by Islamic astrologers (particularly during the Medieval period) to such ends. When the Moon was in a specific mansion (and provided she was unafflicted), a talisman or another special image could be engraved to grant the powers of that mansion to the wearer.

Despite its protective and almost warrior-like nature (it is represented by a man wearing a helmet and is called a ā€œFortunate Assassinā€), I have found this mansion to be quite gentle and peaceful. The feeling I had when working with Geliel (or Geyel), the spirit which presides over this mansion, was warm, enveloping and calm, like a protective cocoon that envelopes you.

While it is traditionally inauspicious to do magical workings when the Moon is in Capricorn (the sign of her detriment) or Scorpio (her fall), this is not a problem when working with the mansions of the Moon as it is sometimes requested. Having my own natal Moon in Capricorn, I was quite happy to create a talismanic oil with the Moon in this sign!

The source for the creation of this talisman is the Picatrix, which gives the following instructions to create a talisman for the 22nd mansion: "the 22nd mansion is Sadahaca. It is for binding tongues so that they don't say anything bad. And when the Moon is in this mansion...sculpt in it the figure of a man with winged feet wearing a helmet and suffumigate it.… And say, ā€œYou, Geyel, bind these tongues so they don't say bad things and make me secure and let me escape from my enemies.ā€ And carry this ring with you and make a seal in black wax with the ring to bind tongues.ā€ (trans. Christopher Warnock)

In the chart used for this mansion (see picture), the Moon is averse to both malefics (Mars & Saturn), waxing and on the Midheaven while in the 22nd Mansion (0°-12°51’ Capricorn).

This oil can be used as an enveloping, protective ā€œarmourā€, hence its name. This is ideal to ward off jealousy and gossip while keeping a pleasant attitude, unlike other protective talismans/materia which may feel more fierce and strong (not that we don’t want that, but sometimes we just don’t feel like showing our teeth!) This is best in social situations or for a public presence that may attract jealousy and gossip, or to envelop yourself in a protective shell against your enemies or against bad intentions (intentional or not) directed at you 🧿

This oil comes in a 10ml bottle for 39€ šŸŒæā‡ļøšŸŒ™āœØšŸ§æ

✨ Suggested Uses:

1ļøāƒ£ Anoint ritual candles for protection: Apply a few drops to candles dedicated to shielding yourself from gossip, envy, or ill will. Light to establish a protective barrier of calm and dignity.

2ļøāƒ£ Prepare a protective charm: Add a drop to jewelry, amulets, or stones you carry with you to create a discreet but powerful shield in social or professional situations.

3ļøāƒ£ Ward your personal space: Place drops at the entry points of your home, office, or sacred space to guard against jealousy and hostile intentions.

4ļøāƒ£ Ritual baths and offerings: Add a small amount to water for ritual baths (without skin contact, as symbolic infusion) or to bowls of water placed on your altar, dedicating them to peace and protection.

5ļøāƒ£ Envelop objects of presence: Rub a few drops on tools linked to your public presence—like microphones, pens, lecterns, or even musical instruments—so they radiate safety and ease.

6ļøāƒ£ Seal petitions or written prayers: Mark the corners of letters, petitions, or spell papers with the oil, asking for freedom from envy and a shield of goodwill.

✨ Practitioner’s tip:
The 22nd Mansion is gentle but firm—ideal when you need to be protected while still remaining open, charming, and approachable. Use it before social events, public speaking, or whenever you want to project calm strength without aggression.
